Tired in a Good Way

Usually when I'm this tired, I've been invaded by unmotivated, unteachable "guests," but not this time!  I have experienced draining weeks on the homestead, in which I'm absolutely exhausted, but that's because something is amiss.  This week I'm exhausted but there's plenty to show for it!  When I heard our Creator tell me to prepare practically, then confirmation after confirmation were presented, I got busy, really busy!  That was Thursday morning of last week.  So much has happened since then!

In one week's time, I've been blessed to "convince" three milk goats, that providing milk on a stanchion in a bucket, is their purpose in life.  They aren't yet convinced, that they could become surrogate mothers to bottle calves, but I don't mind being the middle man.  The time with the animals is quite enjoyable, which I think is why town days are so exhausting.  Although it began on Thursday, rather than Sunday, I spent 3 of seven days away from the place.  That is simply unheard of for me!

After spending Sunday on the computer publishing the Goshen Gazette, I headed outdoors Monday.  What a great day it was to hoe several rows in the garden.  I wrote all about the auction last week in Peculiar Princess, then in order to make a donation to the Food Pantry I had to go to town Tuesday,as they are closed on Wednesday.  Since I had a couple of orders ready to go, I took them along instead of waiting for my scheduled pick up days.  Interestingly, now UPS and USPS have some sort of contract, so it turns out I had a package to pick up as well . . . I stopped in at the feed store, attempting to make the trip short, yet efficient; as I already knew I had to go to town Wednesday as well.

Tuesday evening after chores, putting together more orders, I made my goat connections and determined to organize, hopefully, the last trip to town before Passover.  I still had some major cleaning to do and finish up the garden tilling for bedding plants next week!

Wednesday, I visited two farms, ended up in four towns, went to three banks, two markets, saw my computer guy, and stopped in at my friends' nursery to see what heirloom bedding plants and herbs they are carrying this year.  When I got home, chore time was greatly increased with all the new girls.  It was really getting dark by the time the calves got their bottles.  The next morning, the new girls really needed to be milked!  No question about it, then major housework, and by Friday, Preparation day was non-stop, but by chore time the rest of the garden spots were tilled, the house was hametz free, Shabbat dinner was in the oven, the Sabbath Service was posted, and I'd had a wonderful bath with Rachatz Essential Oil Blend.  Now that's my kind of tired!
