A few weeks ago, the ice on the stock tanks was very thick on Shabbat. So think, breaking the ice truly felt like work. I'd have to check the date on the article . . . I've not chopped ice on Shabbat since early December. We've had some truly cold days and some very thick ice in the Ozarks, but I've not lifted a shovel or axe over a water tank on Shabbat through three weeks of December and all of January!
This past Shabbat was truly special, in that the ice I broke the morning before was still on the ground with much of it remaining unmelted. The ice was thick and took some serious effort Friday, but as you can see in the photograph below, Shabbat, was no work, whatsoever.
This the tank by Berea Tabernacle. I am just so thankful to our gracious Heavenly Father, for this answered prayer. Not only have the water tanks been no work at all on Shabbat, the temperatures have been warm enough and for the most part sunny enough, that animals are enjoying these lovely Shabbat days without having to be tucked in to shelter.
He truly does know what we have need of and answers exceedingly abundantly beyond what we can ask or imagine. So many verses about prayer have just flown through my mind as I give thanks for this simple single prayer our Heavenly Father has answered many times over, in such a wonderful way!
*Today is Sunday, the 26th of January. It was 50 degrees this morning when I went out to do chores. Of course there was no ice to crack, but the fact that there was still ice on the ground from what I cracked on Friday just served to confirm the fact that no ice to break on Shabbat truly has been an answer to prayer and an act of The Almighty!
