The change of season came rather abruptly this past Thursday. The windows were still open and the fan was going Thursday afternoon. As dusk turned to darkness that evening, it began to rain, and the temperature dropped dramatically. Suddenly there was no need for the fan in the sukkah . . . The temperature has not dipped below 40 this autumn, but fall has fallen hard and swiftly this year. Thursday night we received over four inches of rain in this area, and it's been overcast with intermittent showers since. The weather really isn't the topic of this article, however. I learned a bit more about creation this week and wanted to share it.
Through the seventh month on the Hebrew calendar, there are many celebrations of Feasts of YHWH, well one is a fast, but the entire month is just so very special. I've set aside all external study material through this time. I'm still reading, but I'm seeking YHWH in Moshiach only. No new calendar information, no new shemitah details, just a desire for a purely forward direction closer to YHWH. I already know, as I seek Him, the truth becomes evident and the wrong information doesn't require any focus or study. I was literally exhausted with all the new found evidence and new ways to interpret dates and times. Actually, the more emphatic the arguments became, the more sure I became; to set aside these studies until the eighth month or maybe altogether.
The more I've read about the beginning of the year and month on the Hebrew calendar, the more I have just tried to avoid discussions. Dark and winter were never really an issue until we became more advanced in our "progress." So, "Rosh Hashanah" is now a point of contention. The concealed, conjunction, sliver, and full moon are once again the subject of debate. The Enoch calendar is once again making the rounds, and meanwhile I have to wonder if Abba is not saying the same thing to us He said to ancient Israel about the Feasts and Fasts, but their hearts were far from Him. As this month has continued, I'm feeling stronger in knowing Him and worrying less about being right. He truly does see our heart, and He knows the desires of our heart.
So, I celebrated the Feast of Trumpets at the concealed moon. Interestingly the number 7 in Hebrew is very significant in that 7 is the number of completion. So, technically 5774 was completed that day before sunset and the beginning of months will be sometime next spring. So, I understand this period of the year, to now be, a time of dormancy. I look at this like I do the day beginning in the evening. The beginning of months next spring will be like morning of the day, meanwhile . . . I am more sure than ever, that the week of creation took place in the seventh month. I believe everything was created, mature. I believe the produce was flourishing, and we know the fruit was ripe on the trees.
I did learn something new this year, regarding the seasons and creation. I spoke with my friend who had rescued the baby deer. They have grown considerably and are now grazing with his goats. In our conversation, the subject of their spots came up. Those spots were just so symmetrical, I'd never realized the pattern before. He told me it only took them four days to completely lose their spots. When he shared the timing, I just sat in awe. Those deer are a bit late for the usual birthing season around here, but still their spots were gone before the year was completed. We continue to see the completion of Abba's handiwork, even in the details of creation.
