As many of you know, besides homesteading, I am a minister, a writer, and a business woman. From appearances I may not look like a success story to many, but I have a very rich and full life that I wouldn't trade with anyone. Oh, don't get me wrong, I have my failures and disappointments like everyone, but that's the point, "like everyone." Before I derail on a tangent on that topic, let me reel myself back in. Okay here we go. Sometimes in these four "careers" priorities overlap or maybe, compete, is a better description. This is the valuable information for today.
There is a great deal of evidence indicating, Fluoride in our drinking water and tooth paste is not as good for the rest of our body as we've been told it is for our teeth. Due to my own autoimmune/nervous system issue, MS, I went off Fluoride years ago. I began drinking, not just bottled water, but spring water, until I managed to own a well, which is here on the homestead! I also began making my own tooth paste. Now, here's where the priorities compete. As a writer, I included my recipe in my book, "Simply Abundant," so increased sales are always a goal. As a business woman, I've just recently discovered a way to package and sell my "tooth detergent" and it's available through my business. As a minister, this information is too important for a dollar value, so, here's the recipe.
Homemade Tooth Paste
3 Tbs Baking Soda
1 1/2 tsp Hydrogen Peroxide
1 1/2 tsp Glycerin
3 drops Essential Peppermint Oil
It's truly that simple. Of course, you can change the texture by altering the amount of baking soda with the liquid ingredients.
*The humidity can slightly affect the texture.
Let stand in the mixing container over night, as there will be a chemical reaction, then put in jar and use.
Baking soda has been recommended by dentists for years and is a great whitener and mildly abrasive.
Tooth Detergent is available at my online store.
