Just Thankful

Choring in the rain always gives pause for refreshing contemplation. Sometimes in the spring and autumn, it's a complete "wash" and other times, like this morning, just a delicate and gentle mist. It's presence was so light, yet couldn't be ignored. I'm going to sound a little strange here, but a gentle rain truly makes chores almost a religious experience. I become so aware of just how fragile and dependent all life is upon our Creator, and so thankful.

He has promised rain in it's season, if I do what I'm supposed to do. I can bear witness, there is a noticeable difference between punishment, chastisement, warning and the blessing of obedience! I prefer the latter.
I post about rain water rinse for my hair and new business ideas, but to actually be out in the rain tending to the reason I was created brings renewed awareness and connection to my belief in a Creator. To watch the tender green shoots in the garden stretching upward from the soil, to see the new kids frolicking just under cover, but peeking out to see if they can "go out to play," cements my beliefs that there truly is a plan and creation truly took place as described in the first chapter of Genesis.

Tending a garden and watching over the flocks and herd through a gentle spring mist brings me to a point of gratitude and worship I can't begin to describe in a blog or article. I can only share that it truly is wonderful!

One more thing. If you've never said the Sh-ma in a garden, in the rain, I urge you to do so. You will simply never be the same.

Shema’ Yisrael YHWH Eloheinu YHWH Echad
Baruch shem kevod malchuto le-olam va'ed

Hear, O Yisrael: YHWH is our G-d, and He is One.
Blessed is the Name of His glorious Kingdom for ever and ever.
